ສະມາຄົມທະນາຄານລາວ ໄດ້ຮັບກຽດເປັນເຈົ້າພາບຈັດກອງປະຊຸມສະມາຄົມທະນາຄານອາຊຽນ ຄັ້ງທີ 23 ແລະ ກອງປະຊຸມສະພາສະມາຄົມທະນາຄານອາຊຽນຄັ້ງທີ 51 ພາຍໃຕ້ຄຳຂວັນ ການຫັນເປັນດິຈິຕ໋ອນ ແລະ ການເຕີບໂຕທີ່ຍືນຍົງໃນຂະແໜງທະນາຄານ: ກາລະໂອກາດ ແລະ ສິ່ງທ້າທາຍ (Digitalisation and Sustainable Growth in Banking Sector of ASEAN: Opportunity and Challenges).

Lao Banker’s Association (LBA) hosted the 23rd ASEAN Banking Association Conference & 51st ASEAN Banking Council Meeting, under the slogan Digitalisation and Sustainable Growth in Banking Sector of ASEAN: Opportunity and Challenges at the Landmark Mekong RiverSide Hotel in Vientiane Lao PDR from 06 – 08 December 2023.

The event was honored by Mr Bounleua Sinxayvoravong, the Governor of the Bank of Lao PDR, Madam KhanKeo Lamaningao, Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Daw Khin Saw Oo, The Chairperson of the ASEAN Bankers Association, and Madam Saysamone Chanthachack, The chairperson of the Lao Bankers Association, Head of delegates of the banks from 10 ASEAN countries, as well as more than 300 invited guests from the public and private sectors.

At the meeting, Madam Saysamone Chanthachack, the chairperson of Lao Bankers Association, delivering her speech for welcomed the guests, after which Daw Khin Saw Oo, the Chairperson of the ASEAN Bankers Association, stated the purpose of the meeting. In this important meeting, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, the ASEAN Secretary made a comment via video format and the Governor of the Bank of Lao PDR was also honored to comment on the meeting.

This meeting is organized under the slogan that matches the current development situation, that is: Digital transformation and sustainable development in the banking sector of ASEAN.

After the opening ceremony of the meeting, the participants listened to technical discussions and exchanged information on 03 important topics related to the slogan of the meeting:

- Role of Payments in driving Financial Inclusion and Financial Integration across ASEAN Countries,

- Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector: Opportunity and Risk,

- Sustainable and Responsible Banking Practices.

On the occasion of the meeting, members of the Business Bank Association of Lao PDR 11 banks and UnionPay International, VISA and TechCreate exhibited and presented their financial services so that the guests who attended the event had the opportunity to visit and exchange information for future cooperation.

The conference will be held for 3 days, December 6-8, 2023. On December 7-8, 2023, the banking associations of each ASEAN country will continue to the meeting and discuss trade cooperation, investment and financial services together, including the exchange of knowledge and skills among members and regional and international cooperation.
